After working in a excellent disability facility for 2 years i found it very hard to find information on disability venues in the UK.
There seems to be a massive lack of resources available to locate facilities where disabled people can pursue sporting activities. Stoke Mandeville Stadium is one of them. it's seen as the home of disability sport in England, and has recently qualified for the Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) . But where else is there to train and progress your natural ability without having to overcome needless obstacles.
DisabledSport.co.uk is trying to build a useful resource for anyone who wishes to know about venues near them which offer good accessibility for wheelchairs, and also changing facilities which are adapted for different disabilities.
Also what's the best hotel in the country for disability access, and where can i find easy to understand information i need to make my disability as easy to manage as possible?
Hopefully we can answer all those questions here.

The new design finally goes live. We have now made sure all pages follow the Disabilities Discrimination Act 2004. And we have also added the larger and smaller font links, to adjust the text to the size that is best for our users.

Ponds Forge Sheffield, Guildford Spectrum Leisure Complex and Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre have now submitted their information for the web site. And their venue pages will be appearing shortly.

After setting up the web site we have had a good response, and we are now listed on the inclusive fitness web site, and a few others. Thank you for all your support.
I have been busy contacting leisure facilities to gather information to add to the venues page. So far we have had feedback from Guildford Spectrum Leisure Complex and Ponds Forge in Sheffield. Guildford Spectrum was given the highest Quest score in its history, and Ponds Forge has been hosting the water based activities of The Games on Channel 4, plus other large events. We look forward to hearing back from them.
